Project Details:
Located at the corner of Pine Ave and Fernie Coal Rd, adjacent to Fernie Dirtjump Park and in close proximity to Fernie Aquatic Centre, Community Rink and beach volleyball courses
Childcare for 100 kids in different age groups
27 residential units with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments
More than 50% of units will have affordable, below market rents
Surface levels parking for residents, staff and drop-off short term stalls
Final Project Approval Expected in September 2025

Elk Valley Family Society (Owner & Operator): a charitable non-profit society and housing provider.
Elk Valley Childcare Society (Project Instigator and Childcare Operator); a non-profit society and childcare provider
New Commons Development (Development Manager): a non-profit development company managing the financing and project delivery on behalf of EVFS.
North Mountain Construction (Contractor): providing General Contracting and Construction Management services with offices in Nelson and Fernie.
