Affordable rental housing is for people who have a low-to-moderate income but may not be eligible for subsidized housing. Affordable rental housing has rents equal to, or lower than, average rates in the private-market.
Elk Valley Family Society owns 27 units that are available to families, couples, singles and students. Units are rented at a target rate of 85 to 90% of the average rental rate for similar units in the City of Fernie.

Located in Fernie this complex is a mixed community building with 27 units of affordable housing for low to moderate income households that are not eligible for subsidized housing. Veneto also boasts 12 unit designed for seniors (aged 55 and older) and persons with disabilities who are able to live independently.
SASKO MANOR - SPARWOOD
Located in Sparwood this complex is a three story building with 18 units designed for seniors and people with disabilities who are able to live independently.
TIMBERS LANDING - SPARWOOD
Timbers Landing located in Sparwood, BC. is a 4-storey, 30-unit mixed-market residential building that features one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites. The building is geared towards low-to-moderate income households with a mix of affordable and market rental units. Target occupants are families, with a focus on single-parent families, low-income individuals, and persons with disabilities seeking independent living. Four of the units feature barrier-free designs for accessibility.
